Originally built as a family home in the early 1920’s, The Golden Bowler is a well established, genuine Free House and has been owned and operated by our family for nearly 30 years.

 

A large lounge bar provides a comfortable place to relax and sample something from the bar menu or enjoy one of our many fine wines, traditional beers or real ales on offer.

The more formal restaurant has a cosy, pleasant atmosphere and along with the bar provides a relaxed dining experience.

 

Our menu offers customers freshly cooked, traditional English fare, complemented by the Chef’s Specials and Steaks, all of which are homemade and cooked to order.

 

We play host to various forms of entertainment, including a well attended fortnightly pub quiz, regular live music and a very popular Friday Night meat raffle.  There are also many groups who utilise our superb facilities at the pub, including the local Multiple Sclerosis Group who meet up 2/3 times per month, and the Friendly Scrabble Group who use our small function room as a place to gather and while away a happy couple of hours every Friday afternoon. 

 

In support of this, we have a large car park, good sized garden and excellent disabled facilities.

 

We are one of the last traditional pubs in the area and we aim to remain that way, our staff are always friendly and pleased to help and our flexible approach has always been a part of our unique charm.
